OSCOR-5000 Technical Notice | Care and Use of OSCOR-5000 Internal Battery

The OSC-5000 is equipped with an internal Sealed Lead Acid Battery. This type of battery generally does not tolerate repeated deep discharges.  The OSCOR’s circuitry  will prevent the battery from excess power drain but the battery will need to be fully charged before storage.  The OSCOR needs to be stored in an environment with temperatures below 80°F as warmer temperatures will degrade the performance of the battery.  When the OSCOR is brought out of storage the OSCOR will maintain the battery as soon as the microprocessor recognizes the use of AC. Always operate the OSCOR on AC power when possible. If AC power is not available the OSCOR may be connected to 12VDC with the use of an adapter that is stowed in the accessory compartment of the unit. The OSCOR should be stowed with a fully charged battery, and should be recharged monthly when not in use. Replacement battery POWER SONIC Model PS-1229 12Volt 2.9 Amp Hr.
